Called to order 1800 by Malouff

 

1.  Motion by Wolf/Moreland to approve Sept. minutes.  Carried unan.

Motion by Onofrio/Wolf to approve October minutes.  Carried unan.

 

2.  Treasurer’s Report – Moreland.  Handed out Profit/Loss Oct. 2006–Nov. 2007 and tentative 2008 budget based on 58 members.  Still needs final costs for Columbus Day Regatta and Commodore’s Ball.  Simpson – power boaters did not get paid for Columbus Day:  Dave Robson on Sue Widdick’s boat, Joe Stanley.  Malouff will check with Boulding and send card and reimbursement. Wolf will research status of crew memberships and report via email.  Motion by Onofrio/Wolf  to table approval of Treasurer's report pending input of final numbers.  Carried unan.

 

3.  Race Director’s Report – Burley.  Marks and other supplies are stored.  Can improve marks for next year.  Will meet with Chinburgs to transfer experience.

 

4.  Social Director’s Report – None.  Consensus that Commodore’s Ball was great success.

 

5.  Commissioning of New Officers.  Onofrio nominates following officers:  Griggs – Social Chair, Malouff – Commodore, Moreland – Vice Commodore, Cope – Treasurer, Chinburgs Co Race Directors.  Wolf – Secretary.  Nominations were affirmed unan.

 

 

6.  Old Business.

Leukemia Cup – Onofrio.  Leukemia Society expects that regatta meets profit threshhold, which may be in jeopardy next year.  Suggests removing Leukemia Society affiliation.   Motion by Onofrio/Moreland to drop Regatta in 08.   Simpson – suggests telling Society that club needs help with sponsors and other support from Society if we are to continue regatta.  Motion withdrawn.  Moreland will report our support needs and expected declining proceeds to Society and get their reaction.

 

Onofrio has list of non–members to give Malouff.

 

Safety Training.   Simpson – SAIL has allotted $2500 for club safety training, SAIL is continuing to organize this effort. 

 

Junior Sailing at Chatfield – Malouff.   We have been asked to host junior regatta.  Onofrio – suggest recruiting kids from membership.   Simpson – SAIL will sponsor junior trophy.

 

Outreach to Other Clubs – Malouff.  Other clubs seem to share a camaraderie that we do not participate in.  Discussion of reasons, including our lack of participation in other regattas, perception that CSYC is a social club.

 

7.  New Business

Boat Show – Simpson.  Will have more info later this week.  There may be a single sail club booth, consolidated event for kids. 

 

SAIL – Simpson.  Simpson is SAIL Commodore.  SAIL is leaving Brooklyn’s as venue for 4 winter seminars, needs suggestions for alternative venue.  Tour participation declining, will recruit committee from clubs to address issue.  Burley volunteers from CSYC. 

 

Upcoming Events.  Wine/Cheese – February.  Considering possible January event.  Simpson has America’s Cup videos.  Onofrio offers his basement.  Jan 12 proposed.
