Meeting called to order 1815 by Onofrio

Onofrio asked to move wine/cheese party to Feb 10.  Consensus in agreement.  Onofrio can use extra help with Leukemia Cup, monthly meetings scheduled till race weekend.

 

Treasurer’s Report – Moreland.  Handed out Profit/Loss Statement for Nov–Dec 06 vs. 05, Balance Sheet as of 12/31/06 vs. 05.

Discussion of club business cards.

Need membership application for Boat Show and newsletter,  Simpson will send copy to Boulding.

 

Racing – Burley.  Suggests racing committee meet twice in Feb. and twice in March to discuss SI’s, buoys, other racing issues.  Racing kickoff meeting on Apr. 4 at 1000.  Rivelli will not launch his boat next year, so need alternative to set buoys.  Buoys need to be cleaned and painted.  Wilson – can get new plastic barrels for $30 each + cost to attach anchor, paint. 

Motion by Boulding/Onofrio to prepare new buoys at cost NTE $100 each.  Carried unan.

 

Social Report – Hullett.  Hullett will contact Steve at Anchorage to discuss Fathers’ Day Catalina event..

 

Wilson – does Club want another committee/chase boat?  He often has opportunities to purchase boats for low cost.

 

Old Business.  Motion by Hullett/Burley to present awards for spring race series at pig roast.  Carried unan.

 

New Business.  Wilson – how about permanent start mark that can also be used as gate between marks?  Burley – will discuss at racing committee meetings.

 

Simpson – how about putting new racers in separate fleet?  Lowe – some owners think their boats are too big to race.  Wilson – rookie series used at Carter Lake, experienced skippers help rookies on 3 Saturdays, includes classroom training.  Also opportunity for crew and skipper to trade places.

Boulding – let’s set a date for rookie race and promote at Boat Show.

 

Onofrio – SAIL meetings 1/10 and 2/14 at Brooklyn’s, 7:00 p.m.  He will not be at next CSYC Board meeting, Malouff will chair.
